Understanding Distributor Physics
Five unseen forces dictating how your brand performs
Beverage distributor rejections are rarely personal. They’re governed by basic physics.
If you want your liquid to move, you have to respect the forces in the warehouse 𝘢𝘯𝘥 on the sales team:
Gravity: Not the downward pull most people think of, but the law that massive objects attract smaller ones. In distribution, high-volume mega-brands have so much market “mass” they pull all of a distributor’s attention and resources into their orbit, leaving small brands starved. 🌌
Inertia: Sales reps sell what’s already selling. They don’t push stationary boxes; an object at rest stays at rest. 🎱
Momentum: Mass times velocity. A few early, high-profile retail wins build the speed needed to make reps want to ride your brand’s wave. 🎢
Friction: Operational drag like messy pricing, out-of-stocks, or poor communication can literally slow your brand’s roll. 🛼
Displacement: Warehouse space is finite. For your liquid to float, you have to explicitly show whose volume you are going to push out. The RNDC fallout is this concept in action. ⚓
Stop pitching abstract “potential energy.” Bring the the data that proves you have kinetic energy.
